Everything you need to know to start playing Phasmophobia.

Welcome to Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia is a cooperative paranormal investigation game. Your goal is to identify the ghost type haunting a location by collecting evidence.

The Evidence

There are 7 types of evidence in the game. Each ghost has 3 pieces of evidence (fewer depending on difficulty).

Use the PhasmoGuide assistant to quickly identify the ghost from your evidence.

First Game

  1. Start on a small map (Bleasdale Farmhouse or Edgefield Street House)
  2. Stay together at first
  3. Turn on the lights
  4. Check every room with the EMF reader
  5. Find the ghost room (coldest room)
  6. Collect your evidence carefully

Sanity

Your sanity drops in the dark and near the ghost. The lower it gets, the more frequent hunts become. Use sanity pills to stabilize it.

Hunts

During a hunt, the ghost can kill you. Hide your presence by:

  • Staying quiet (mute microphone)
  • Hiding (lockers, alcoves)
  • Turning off electronic equipment
